About this artist:
Willis Mark, whose pen-name is "Marco", hails from the sunbathed island
of Trinidad, where the effects of living in that unique, Caribbean culture
have had a profound effect on his style. His early childhood impressions of
art were saturated with the sights and sounds of the annual artistic
spectacle known as "Carnival".
Pursuing formal training in the arts, Marco was graduated from the New
York School of Visual Arts, after which he worked as an advertising and
commercial artist.
Since moving southeast, he has built a reputation as one of the most
respected creators of three dimensional mixed media artwork in the
country. His creations can be found in prestigious residential and
commercial locations throughout the United States.
All of Marco's limited editions and open edition images from his
"Roots Series" are hand-pulled and finished serigraphs. These images
are uplifting and rhythmic; reflecting the style and dignity of his
heritage. He captures the human spirit's ability to see, feel, and
expect life's best. "Celebration III and IV" reflect the style and
mystique of an island lady. The "Me and You" image is a contemporary
statement of young love. "Evening Stroll" depicts the togetherness and
strength of a family.
